Cape Town or Bust!

The next Extreme Empty Nesting travel adventure is about to commence! This time, we have one of our adult children in tow – our daughter, Hannah. Hannah just graduated from veterinary school; what better gift for a veterinarian than an African safari?!

We are currently at the Newark Airport awaiting our United flight to Cape Town, South Africa. Yes, you read that correctly – the same airport and airline currently in the news with dozens of daily cancelations and travel delays! We are channeling all the positive travel karma we can in hopes our flight makes it out tonight! To add more excitement to our wait, thunderstorms are blanketing the area at present. Oh the joys of travel.

Our trip will begin with four nights in Cape Town, where we hope to explore this beautiful city and its surroundings, before heading to our first safari game reserve on the edge of Kruger National Park. We will spend three nights here at the Ngala private game reserve. Then we’ll venture to Victoria Falls River Lodge in Zimbabwe for a couple of days, followed by three nights in Chobe National Park at Sable Alley private game reserve.

My goal is to journal our trip daily and hope for decent internet connectivity that I can post regularly. If not, I’ll begin posting once we have reliable wifi.

Wish us good luck and safe travels, please!

Samantha
